For my first day in Ventura yesterday, my boyfriend used his film camera and got a lot of really cool shots. We rode bikes near the beach, explored the downtown scene and climbed to the top of a building. It's such a cute town - right along the coast. I bought this top at Urban Outfitters last winter on a whim (and nicknamed it "acid wolf"), but it was so comfortable & convenient that I wore it all the time. The bright red shorts were an effort to put me in a colourful, summery mood. Also, I think I'm just in love with that colour this season. We got even more adventurous today and took plenty more pictures, but I'll get around to those tomorrow.

I snapped these pictures really quick in my apartment yesterday before taking off and thrifting in Costa Mesa, which is where Dee-Lux is located. I found a lot of cool pieces and I'm looking forward to wearing them this coming week when I travel to Ojai and Ventura. Still, I had to make a pit stop at South Coast for H&M, where I got a pair of orange wedges to wear to a cocktail party in San Juan Capistrano last night (pictures to come). I feel like I've been driving to every city on the map in Southern California these past few days. But, then again, this is what I wanted for summer: A few months of spontaneous travel. Bring it on!

Just a small collection of images and fashions that are inspiring me at the moment. I can't get enough of the maxi skirt for summer. That, and white lace, crop tops, eye-popping colours, side ponytails and loose menswear.

It was such a nice day yesterday that I decided to go ride my beach cruiser on the boardwalk in Venice Beach. I had never been so it was quite an experience! Lots of pop-up shops, greasy food and tagged walls. Definitely a staple of Southern California attitude, so I'm glad I got to visit. I had so much fun that I forgot to take many pictures, but take a look at that artwork on the walls! Awesome (love the "What! I'm vegan" caption). Green cord Levi's were the perfect choice for my day out on the go.

I went to Catalina Island over the weekend. The weather was perfect! I got this sheer top at American Apparel recently and I've been loving its padded shoulders for that girly-masculine look. Paired with these high-waisted shorts from Urban Outfitters and a polka dotted sweater from H&M (which I bought last winter and I still live in!), it was insanely comfortable for the breezy day. Plus, we did a lot of walking so I was grateful. Everything was so pretty over there, I never wanted to leave!
