If it's the beaches

[UNIF top, Forever 21 shorts and ring, American Apparel bathing suit, H&M bag, Free People jewelry]

Days in Long Beach were hotter than ever last week! I feel like the calendar is lying to me, this can't be October! I made sure to be outdoors as much as possible, which is why a field trip to the beach for my marine biology class sounded like a perfect way to learn lol. For the beach, I had to break out my American Apparel bathing suit I bought in the summer, just in case the tides got too high, and I've been sporting this hilarious tank by UNIF whenever I'm feeling crazy. I swear it gets several confused glances around campus. Before my friend Brittany took these pictures, I kicked off my sandals and felt so comfortable in the sun that I ended up walking around barefoot for the rest of the day!

I've been a huge slacker on posts, but, I swear, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. Also, I'm meeting Taylor Swift on Tuesday! I'll just have to post an update after that :')

Light from the lighthouse

I had to stop next to the Volcom store in Ocean Beach. It's Natalie Suarez of natalieoffduty. love her :)
[Mango top, Hudson jeans, Radley bag]

I've been MIA from blogger these past couple weeks because I was in a parade last weekend (just wait for the pictures). I was assigned to wear a sequin purple dress, complete with hoop skirt. It turned out to be a lot of fun, but I had a ton of events to attend. Plus, my boyfriend came to visit me in San Diego so I had to show him the town! That's what these pictures are from.. we visited the Cabrillo National Monument, which is a beautiful lookout point in San Diego. I always feel like I'm escaping reality when I explore the lighthouse. I remember visiting it even when I was little and being amazed. As for the Mango top, I absolutely love the colour of it in person! I was unsure when I looked at it on the hanger, but I feel so sunny when I have it on. And I could just live in my favorite pair of Hudson jeans.

Through the fields

This was the very narrow path we had to walk to get to the top!

And I may have had to crawl through some barbed wire to get there..
[Guess top, American Apparel skirt, Urban sandals, Ray Bans]

Using the film camera again, we took some pictures on a mountaintop in Ventura. That was my first time climbing through a barbed wire fence. It may have been trespassing, but once we got there, it was too beautiful to matter! I feel like all fashion bloggers own this skirt, and in this colour, but I still get compliments on it every time I wear it. It's so beautiful in person! Maybe I would have dressed more appropriately for a hike had I known we were doing this, but it was kind of sprung on me and I wasn't going to pass it up. What an incredible view, totally worth it!

Acid wolf

Downtown Ventura!

mmm grilled cheese and potato salad

We snuck up a ladder to the rooftop of an apartment complex for this beautiful view..
[Urban top and shorts, H&M belt, Ecote moccasins]

For my first day in Ventura yesterday, my boyfriend used his film camera and got a lot of really cool shots. We rode bikes near the beach, explored the downtown scene and climbed to the top of a building. It's such a cute town - right along the coast. I bought this top at Urban Outfitters last winter on a whim (and nicknamed it "acid wolf"), but it was so comfortable & convenient that I wore it all the time. The bright red shorts were an effort to put me in a colourful, summery mood. Also, I think I'm just in love with that colour this season. We got even more adventurous today and took plenty more pictures, but I'll get around to those tomorrow.

Summer breeze and soda pop

I've been loving this shiny silver colour on my nails!

[H&M sweater, Forever 21 skirt, Steve Madden shoes, Free People rings]

I snapped these pictures really quick in my apartment yesterday before taking off and thrifting in Costa Mesa, which is where Dee-Lux is located. I found a lot of cool pieces and I'm looking forward to wearing them this coming week when I travel to Ojai and Ventura. Still, I had to make a pit stop at South Coast for H&M, where I got a pair of orange wedges to wear to a cocktail party in San Juan Capistrano last night (pictures to come). I feel like I've been driving to every city on the map in Southern California these past few days. But, then again, this is what I wanted for summer: A few months of spontaneous travel. Bring it on!
